Why it is that I cant keep
The one my heart holds tight to
And the one I seem to seek

Why Ive given the key to my heart
To this special person
Who keeps up so far apart

Why it is I cant succeed
Every time I try to rise up
I fall down and I ble
God please make me understand
Why it is that I cant choose
And even when I make a choice
I always seem to loose

Why it is I stand alone
Why everyone I try to trust
Leaves me heartbroken and disowned

These trials I must face
And how they know exactly
When to come into place

Why the mountaintops are so clear
But once I reach the valley
There’s no way to shed a tear

Why when everything’s right it’s wrong
Why the shortest periods of time
Always seem so long

But of all these things I ask of you to make me understand
There’s one thing that I must know
One task that’s at my hand

Why I feel as though I’m weak
When everyone around me just can’t seem to see
They don’t know the pain I feel inside
No one knows sees it’s possible for me to cry

So God I truly ask you to make me understand
What is the purpose for a woman to love a man
For trials and tribulations
And to test just who I am

There may not be many things that I fully understand
But love is not a toy to be passed from hand to hand
