M-box a mic and mastering know-how if your looking for under a grand whick is un-advisable.

1 Soundcard (Not nessesary for Recording with USb interface but needed to master)
2 Pre-amp
3 Mic
4 Monitors
5 Booth
6 Mastering devices(Includes Software Compressors etc)
7 The little things (High quality Cables, Mic stand

^I was gonna go to the studio but they wanted $250 a song, and I have 18 songs to record. 250 x 18 = $4500 and I aint rich.

aiyyo blak jus cop a soundcard n mic n shit like money said n do it urself, so u gotta spend dough but it worth it...den jus get it copyrighted den mastered by sumone dat culd do it...if u kno sum1 in college in like Radio/TV dat uses a studio c if u can get sumone wit skills ta master dat shit 4 ya. jus find ways ta push dat shit, cuz u do it urself it gon save dough n u get tha feelin dat u acomplish sumpin kid. n if u nice enuff get it pressed n start sellin at stores..if not jus press it n pop open da trunk.

u cant master with software...all u can do with software is to make it sound better....u can only master with hardware basically..well wat u can do is record...then send ur tracks to a mastering company...i sent some tracks to press-a-demo dot com before....and it sounds official.....but yeah trans basically summed it all up for u

aight?but yeah i dont think its a good idea to record ur 1ST album at home...think about it...u need to come out dope as hell on ur 1st album for people to be even interested....so in my opinion...get ur home studio up...and start doing mixtapes for now....save mad bank..then record ur 1st album in a real studio..

what in god's name are you talking about? You CANT master with software? You need hardare?

if you record with high quality equipment to start with...you can then MASTER with software...plug-ins...etc....
that is what you do with pro-tools on a digital setup buddy.
