    Wk 4; Sacred Scriptures Mag.

    http://i31.tinypic.com/b4vvbo.jpg

    Introduction;

Well, welcome to another edition of the Sacred Scripture mag by yours truly. Ugh, on a side rant; I wish I could make a mag cover with whats coming up in this mag..but I can't. So I guess I'll have to settle, lol. I've asked for Brandon Cee to get modded up in here, I need a little help writing mags and stuff and he was the first dude I thought of. I remember him writing some mags last season, so I was thinking he could help out a little around SS, if he'd like. Anyway, as for last week..It was pretty up and down I guess. Voting mainly came in on Sunday night, WTF is with that? Get votes in early people. I hate having battles decided by one or two votes. So this week, I'm enforcing the voting rule harshly. So get to it. We need to cut out all of the no-shows. Anyone who no-shows gets booted if they don't have a valid excuse, so we honestly should be striving for a perfect week this week, guys. We've some excellent competition this season, there are some really great writers. We even tempted Chris Black back into the fold. So SHOW UP!

    Battle Reviews;

    Daz Vs Baron P. Mortuus;
This wasn't what I expected - from either of these guys. I think both dropped below par. Baron had some awkward wording and some flow issues. His concept was nice though, he implemented a religious theme which seems to have become the norm with him. It was overall a cool piece, just not up to his usual standards. The same goes for Daz, he focused too much on slant rhyme which isn't always reader friendly. He dropped a romeo and juliet type piece with a modern twist on it. The voters felt that he didn't really do his concept justice because of his jumbled wording. Voting ended at 3-1 Baron P. Mortuus.

    Beyonic Vs ARMADA
Hmph. This surprised me a lot, haha. Beyonic dropped one of the best verses I've seen this season. His imagery was amazing, along with his wording. Storywise the piece was okay, but he picked it up from the last few weeks. He's moving towards becoming a major threat, imo. As for ARMADA, he dropped good too..his battle with his father drop was nice, his flow was just too simple though. Beyonic won the battle 3-0. And gained himself a KO. Good battle guys.

    boberric. Vs Mariah.
Well, Mariah dropped the dopest piece I've seen from her, period. The storyline was fluent and it moved along at a nice pace. Her rhyming was great most of the time, however, sometimes she tried too hard to rhyme which led to slightly odd phrasing and in turn it took away from the point of the drop. As for bob; it wasn't his best week, he focused too much on rhyming. His storyline never really developed and his flow [for once] seemed forced at times. It seems like bob rushed this one. Mariah won 3-0, and earned a KO.

    Brandon Cee Vs The Metallica.
Fucked up battle here, both dropped late. Brandon dropped like four lines..Metallica dropped a whole verse but said Brandon could edit in his verse. Brandon edited in a whole new piece which I though was kind of unfair on Metallica, so I opted to not give him a loss. As for the verses, Brandons was dope..I still prefer his italic stanzas at times but his verse this week was nice, the flow was excellent, the story was okay, nothing too over the top but it was wrapped up well. The Metallica flipped the whole apple doesn't far from the tree thing nicely. His flow was too simple though, and the voters thought that Brandon had the technically superior piece. Brandon won 1-0 (WTF PEOPLE START VOTING!)

    Lampejo Vs Cry.
Ughhhh. This was pretty one-sided. Lamp came with a very poetic drop, it didn't rhyme which is fundemental in topical writing. So it was toiling to read, it was almost spoken word. The wording was beautiful and the idea behind the pice was nice..but you NEED to implement a complex rhymescheme man. Cry's rapunzel drop was nice, a little corny but his rhyming and wording eclipsed any doubts I had before reading. It was a really good piece from him. Cry won by KO.

    White-Winter Vs Meters.
Another battle decided by ONE vote. What the fuck is wrong with you people. Anyway, Meters had a dope rhyme-scheme and his flow was steady throughout, his piece was absract and allowed the reader to sit back and watch the story unfold. WW had a more typical storyline, but he executed the flip in his story with great skill, masking the fact that the artist he was speaking about considered the people he murdered works of art. It just really came out of nowhere. But yeah, I had the lone vote in this..and I voted for Meters. It could have went either way though, I guess we'll never know.

    Born To Kill Vs Engivale.
This was fucking close, imo. Eng dropped a piece about man trying to escape what can only be described as himself, it was a good story and the flow was cool, it could have been tightened up a little in spots though. I think Eng has dropped better this season but this was still a dope verse, he had some witty lines like the 2 girls one cup. Borns drop was his best so far, I enjoyed the whole surprise party as it caught me unawares. His flow was nice throughout and his execution was flawless. I voted for Born, but the majority voted for Eng. It ended 3-1 Engivale and he retains his title for another weak.

    No show shine for a dedicated mind;

    Alluminati

[Best Of Both Worlds. (Lifestyle of the Rich and the Shitty)

A trickled winkling of Primrose Wine with a side game of Backgammon,
Darlings and Sir's, in finest cravates; caviar sautéed with rendered salmon.
Croquet matches on the lawn, two grand tractors adorning the royal gardens - and
in the faint distance the wailing birds drown out the cracking of polo balls and battons.

Riff Raff on street corners. Drug dealers in the alleyways so they're forbidden,
brothels in the highstreet shedding babies; because they're whore ridden.
Like a cavity in society, a yob or miscreant sticks out like a sore thumb
Most succumb to the rough lifestyle but praise to the few in which abstain from.

Thick Curdled Clotted Cream aboard freshly baked scones; grace afternoon tea
With the grin of faces in chum at the table, across a scent of the finest potpourri.
A banter of un-arrousing laughs caused by others who wallow in self pity
Quite ditty not witty from an abrupt posh family who own half the god damn city.

Microwavable meals with greenmold bread, and healthy brown water to wash it down
Carbon footprint rockets just to cook it but only the best for the taste of the town.
The Tv's broke again, it doesnt matter because that hood kids fighting again, on TV? -
No in the front street, so who needs to pay electricity, when these guys entertain.

As the moonlight progresses, the procession of a whimsical dance, have enhanced -
the romance of couplets, thus giving the option of marriage more of a chance.
An array of ballroom dancing under the stary sky seems magical; a scene like no other
This comes from the prosperity of just a name, which seperates this life from another.

A pint down the local, possibly a ruby on the way home, well hostel or doorway
Peoples taxmoney tomorrow sounds good, i'll get some drugs to lead me astray
Ah its a tough old life, but sometimes i just have to say, to took me away
that it sickens me to the very core, and i feel this every single day.

Four Finger Post suits and a soiree of charades before leave to bed,
Rustic bins, old mattress, anything will do, where i can get my head.

A decent enough drop here from Alluminati, and thanks to another no-show he moves to 4-0! His flow was a little choppy throughout the piece, mainly because his lines tend to be long but his imagery was nice, some really descriptive wording which I personally enjoyed. He needs to up his rhymescheme, imo, if he wants to compete with the best in the league. But yeah, decent drop man. Keep them coming!

    Battle Of The Week;

It was Engivale Vs Born To Kill. This was a no-brainer, lol.

    Born To Kill;

    Into Oblivion

No sound, all’s silent...the pin drop kind that raises hair on necks...
Panic surrounds, thoughts go violent...you instinctively beware what’s next.
    A feeling you’re watched, someone’s with you...your house no longer a home...
The faint scent of scotch, a crumpled tissue...you’re definitely not alone.
A tiny bump, muffled whispers...for sure, there’s more than one...
Your heart jumps as you smell a Swisher; then you pull from your purse, a gun.
Flick the lights; nothing happens...they want you in the dark...
Adjusted sight, and though you feel trapped in...forward you embark.
Into oblivion, past reasoning...when you know you could easily leave...
    Normal civilians don’t confront B’s & E’s...they seek out a reprieve.
But this isn’t the normal lady; she’s a bit crazy with defiance...
From an assault she’s kept in a vault, from 5 years ago after Science.
Class let out, no one stayed...when winter brings night so quick...
Kids in route, home for holidays...lonely dorm room lock goes click.
But upon entry, from behind, a slam in her back buckles knees...
Forced past the door which then confines, hands on throat start to squeeze.
Choked into oblivion, lost equilibrium...and upon returning he’s inside...
Violating and desecrating...shouting “Bitch” with jackhammer grinds.
The stench of cigs and gin; her cheeks rubbed raw from stubble…
He buried himself in her ivory skin, like he was digging through rubble.
Repeatedly raped and conquered, flags planted by a monster...
He explored every inch of her, and to this day it still haunts her.
It's why she left Shreveport, after she grieved for innocence lost...
Finished college in College Station; then moved to Houston for a job.
Never allowed the topic to flourish, she never nourished that memory...
Not a single soul was ever told cuz she felt she failed at Him or Me.
So she paid the fee, earned her permit to conceal and carry...
And now won’t flee cuz she feels legit with steel like Dirty Harry.
One step stepped, two steps more, sweat beads on her brow, shining...
44 kept on heft, at the door of the dining where they’re hiding.
Adrenaline slams every cell with energy; she’s almost at a bounce...
Then a footstep right at the door, so audible it can’t be denounced.
She never blinks as bullets burst from the barrel in succession...
When the slugs erupt, she feels the relief of a psychiatric session.
Closure, it’s finally over...the demons returned have been expelled...
Quelled, put on the shelf...then she hears a female yell.
The sound of crying, so mournful…a man’s voice screams, “Oh my God!”
    “I think he’s dying!”, “Call a hospital!” Familiar voices...wow, that’s odd.
Shock like ice down shirts, no one meant to shout, “Bitch”, no reprise...
On the anniversary of her birth, her friends were gonna shout, “Surprise!!!”
    Vs

    Engivale;

    Outward Implosion

He stupidly remains in pursuit of me,
I dutifully take pains to spray his brains beautifully,
It's cool to see what the lunacy does to me,
I'm dusting the rust off my bloodlust when it bludgeons me,
    Nothin's free ---
    Understand that and survive,
I laugh and I cry, but crazy J.P. catches the rye,
High fashion to buy, I hate this costume I wear,
    ...This play-opossum affair...
I care for the cause but I'm at a loss for what's fair...

I march into the large venue with
Scars then you're charged when you
Em-you --- late, Fate and luck intertwine,
    I don't give a fuck if it's mine,
I live in a world with two girls
and a cup and it's fine?!
    Just jump in the line,
    Be part of the factory...
I'm mad at me for being what i had to be...

If I stop running, it's me he'll be taking,
Free for the making, I can't concede to the caging...

It's easy to relate if you're sleezy and you're fake,
Just lead me in debate and beat me while I'm sleepily awake,
I need to be the gate, the way is closed,
My cable froze and my lights are next to fade like a fable's rose...
    Just say, --- suppose ---
That maybe those feelings are genuine,
Many men failed where I'm trying, "God, let me win!"
The scent of sin lingers, my mind spirals,
The crime kills but it's fine to lie in the minefields,
The mind's wheels spin and I peel the grin from my face,
To live is to waste, why try when death's always winnin' the race?
Clinical case, I'm closed up, my soul is sewn shut,
I'll never own up to the duty, just shoot me, I'm grown up...

To decide if he gets me, I try it conceptually,
Am I next to be beaten? Am I even a threat to me?
Perceptibly calm, but the bomb is inside,
I can't get off of this ride, I'm lost in the thoughts that I hide,
    Possibly, high, and probably drunk,
I solemnly slunk to the closet and lay across from the junk,
He can't find me here, I wait for my mind to clear,
And then behind my ear he shouts,
    "I'M ALREADY HIDING HERE!"

If I could have gotten away I'd have already done it,
But when you're running from you how do you hide from it...?

    Verse Of The Week;

For me, Beyonic had the best verse this week.

    Beyonic;

    Join Me In Death

The bright blade’s nitrate sparkled and glistened beneath,
While the particle’s fission let off a sharpness envisioned to see.
The tall clad, brawn-jacked soldier in chainmail armor arose.
Armed to the toes with cane, shells, ardor, and woe.
A disfigured man afflicted, stands and targets his foe…
Underfed with one bum leg, he aims Hell’s part of the chrome.
“You got lotta nerve,” he spoke with fragile and broken English.
“I kill you now, K?” as he fires the shrapnel explosive pieces,
Lone gunman with known grudges, feels the burn of the cobras.
And peels the metallic from his skin to return to the holster.
Turning to face the exit signs, he slowly walks from the scene.
… A man with a deathwish, essence of only coffins to be.

    ***

Outside my crumby apartment building, the streets rampant.
Hooligans loot the strip while the cornerman speaks Latin.
The same old apocalypse, preaching what destroys us.
God again, he’s offerin’ while reaching with his coincup.
I close the door behind me, head up the crumbled stairway.
Steps by two, left, my room - “17” the number dare claims.
Halfway hanging off the oak, I twist the knob clockwise.
Enter my abode, unclothe, and drift upon cloth twined.

    ***

Greenery and wrapped gifts, packaged - kids smiling exuberant.
Wife laughing, I’m happy, as the knifefight is to soon begin…
The windows shatter, shards splash in a puddle of fragments.
Subtle and tragic, carcrash into my most beloved, my Alice.
Enraged by the sight, I feel a serrated blade in my side.
Snarling from the corner of my vision, vixen of a radiant guise.
Hades entwined, wickid visage with infinite gusto present.
Skin resistant, but slits relentless with each thrust embedded.

    Ring ring ring..

Still drowsy, I feel lousy and rollover to reach for the nightstand.
Picking up the receiver, “what do need for tonight, man.”
“I have a special mark, bring your best weapon charged,
The address is 2027 Memory Lane – I want ‘em dead and scarred.”
Hanging up, I climb from my sleeping chamber, reach the hangers.
Extract the dusty Dyneema and the prototype sequined saber.
Another day on the job - I suit up, boot up; escape to the hall.
Cascade down the steps, out the door, and away from it all.

    ***

In my gritty ride, I drive through the flashing, shifting lights.
Until my cruiser merges with the chaotic, cosmic citylife.
Rumbling up to my destination, shifting the gear to park.
I exit in silence, violence begins twisting my spirit dark.
Sticking to the shadows, battle with my innerself subsides.
Gripping the handle with the shiny, linen-felt design…
The backdoor lies open, motion I can see from the drapes.
Momentum builds and I crash through the screen as it breaks.
I roll behind a wall, sprawl and lie in wait for my bounty.
As chunks of plaster soar from strays that have found me.
My cover begins to wither, splinter as I poise for the threat.
With one flying effort, sever when I jump disjoining her breaths.
“With vixen, I forget it’s I who not survive foyer abreast.
This my Kingdom of Heaven, one day they join me in death.”

    Interview With PoetaMuse.

    By Engivale.

RBEngivale: Okay, so I'm here with Poeta, who just signed into SS for the new season. So, why did you sign into the topical league, man? I know you mostly do IE and poetry

el poeta101101: Basically, i've always loved the more rhythmic side of writing, and being able to create something that flows in a particular order aswel as my more well known style of doing that what ever the hell i feel like which is how i conduct my poetry pieces. I used to actually be okay at topical, i mean i found my niche in poetry, but topical was something that i could do with ease, but as late it seems i just don't have it anymore, so i'm looking to shake off the dust and maybe take a few competitors down on my way before i lose miserably!

RBEngivale: LoL, word. I remember you being a pretty formidable opponent two seasons ago =D. So, what do you think of the level of competition that's in this season as compared to other seasons of SS you've seen or participated in?

el poeta10110: I mean we've lost a few you know, like Bounce, Brixton, but at the same time we have people like Chris and Born coming back to the league which is cool. I remember when i first came to the site watching people like that just taring people apart with their writtens, so i definitely think it's still very much a prestigious league. Aside from that i was surprised to see brandon won the last season, last time i checked on his work he was still very much average if not below, so when i saw he had won SS, i naturally had to check it out, and wow, such a drastic change, i love that kind of thing man, seeing people come up through the ranks as underdogs. *brings a tear to my eye* lol

RBEngivale: Hahaha, yea, I couldn't believe that, either, when I saw it, but Brandon has elevated himself pretty well. I think this season has a lot more talent than last, myself, so defending his crown will be tough come playoffs. Do you plan on riding out the entire 16 weeks? Or do you think you might get bored or discouraged and sign out as we've already seen from a lot of ppl?

el poeta101101: It all comes down to the basic principal of whether or not i can come up with the goods, i don't mind losing, but if i'm really out of my depth with it even with effort then i think i'll go get a little but of practice in a less preasured enviroment (OM) But my PLAN is to stay and try my hardest through-out the weeks. Just see how far i can get amongst a bunch of really decent writers.

RBEngivale: yea, it's a great proving grounds for the most talented writers. Always a good place to judge yourself. So, tell us a bit about yourself, Poeta. What do you enjoy doing aside from writing? Do you play any instruments or record music? Where do you go to school/what are you pursuing career-wise? And, what are your most prominent inspirations for writing?

el poeta101101: I basically enjoy making my girl happy, not because i enjoy that, but becuase SHE enjoys that lol. *lock down*... I play guitar, mainly classic rock style, but i'm trying to figure a new style at the moment and make my music a little more ambient in a sense, almost blues rock... I have my own studio in my room, well sort of, i have a desk, studio speakers, midi keyboard, amp, but ironically i can't get my version of cubase to work on my computer! i'm a sound engineer so i have worked around studios as a voulenteer in my local area and for local bands in my city, but my real passion is making music and the creation side of it. My schooling should be fine now i've got back on track with it, i'm going back to college in september to study psychology, but my real career i want to be in music, now don't get me wrong, i don't mean i want to make it (althouggh that would be cool) I'm not dillusional like so many people these days! but i mean in any way shape or form, as long as i'm playing and singing i'm happy!... my inspirations for writing is just Life, i'm feeling down about something i'm write about it, if i'm happy about something i'll write about it, but usually with my classic dark twist lol

RBEngivale: Yea, a lot of writing gets to be kind of dark, though, i guess it's better to pour it on a page rather than leave it in you. So, which matches are you interested in seeing this week?

el poeta101101: Chric black vs. Thrust should be interesting, i've always loved both writers style so it should be cool, but i think Chris could get the edge on it seeing as Thrust has been away for a fair while... Alsothe Tim vs. Meters match, once again two very accomplished writers going head to head.

RBEngivale: Cool, cool - I also wanted to interject and say I'm learning guitar slowly but surely and love playing it, LoL, but on with the 'view. Who would you most like to battle yourself this season, either that you've battled before and want a rematch with, or someone you've never faced?

el poeta101101: First of all, Goodluck with the guitar man, it's a frustrating slut of a learning process but it's worth it! keep at it. As for who i'd like to battle, i'd have to say Tim, Born, Chris, you. But especially born, as when i first started out i battled him and he destryed me inw ays i didn't know were possible! So for years i've been looking for a chance to get my own back!

RBEngivale: lol @ that - and i can play most of the chords and bar chords and move my fingers alright, I'm getting there, if it's an easy song to play I can probly play it, just can't do tough up-and-down the fretboard stuff yet. Okay, so, any predictions on how the season will end? Like, project a final four =D

el poeta101101: It's so open man, it's like there is so many quality writers in there that it's just anyones game. Oh and try to start working on power chords and scales, especially the pentatonic scales (blues scales) really helps.

RBEngivale: Word =D. Well, I think there's some writers in this league on that cusp of breaking into the conversation with "best on the site" with a really good SS run, do any come to mind?

el poeta101101: Well just the norm like Born, chris, you, Tim ect ect lol

RBEngivale: well, i mean, the ppl that aren't mentioned in that list, like, who do you see as next in line, so to speak?

el poeta101101: Oh, well definitely the people like Burden, Witness if he ever bothers to get active again, Pique, Baron, yeah all of those kind of dudes that work really hard to progress. That;'s what it's all about man, yeah you start off with a certain amount of natural flare... but honing that ability is another story, and i believe they have the dedication and motivation to do so.

RBEngivale: word, man. Okay, so here's the final and classic part of any interview, the fake battle predictions. Here we go...

RBEngivale: Chris Black vs Born to Kill

el poeta101101: Tough one, but i'd go with Chris, just because i think Born sometimes doesn't try as hard as he could, but then again, he's alot older therfore has alot more responsibility to deal with outside writing.

RBEngivale: yea, age comes with a lot of bullshit to deal with, lol, as I begin to find out myself... Okay, Tim vs Brandon Cee

el poeta101101: On form, Tim, easilly. On form Tim is a beast.

    RBEngivale: Meters vs Burden

el poeta10110: Meters due to experience, But once again, he's been away from writing for a while and Burden is killing SS as late, sooo who knows!

    RBEngivale: Mariah vs Baron P

    el poeta101101: Baron. full stop.

    RBEngivale: boberric. vs cry

    el poeta101101: Cry

    RBEngivale: Daz vs The Metallica

    el poeta101101: Daz

RBEngivale: alright, man, well that'll do it

RBEngivale: I appreciate the time and the convo

    el poeta101101: No problem man.

RBEngivale: Take it EZ, and good luck in your match this week - anything you want to add for a final word to the league?

    el poeta101101: FUCK PROPAGANDA!

    RBEngivale: lol alright dude later

    Outro;
We've got potential for an excellent week guys, so get your god damn votes in! Thats all I have to say, props to Eng for doing such a good job on the interview, and props to poeta for answering his questions. If anyone else wants to contribute to the mag writing hit me up next week! And if you don't vote this week, you're booted. No matter who you are - get 3 votes by Sunday night.

cool. Top 5 writers/power rankings ish is always kinda cool, same with a battle predictions written by someone else, you should recruit a couple mag writers to do those two sections...

I'm getting a co-mod in here. He can write the power rankings/predictions. Well, thats what I planned anyway, man.

I spent an hour plus doing the mag. So yeah, thats enough for one person haha.

word, it takes a squad, man, to write a good, full mag. Otherwise it will take you like four hours... (trust me, I wrote mags for season 5 every single week all by myself, basically, until I basically had to get help or I wouldn't even try to start doing the work.)
